  1. Has anyone seen the movie Fireproof? If you haven't you totally should! I just finished watching it and I couldn't wait to read the bible when it was over. I hope everyone's week is going well.

  2. "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." This statement from Jesus really hits home to me everytime I read it. Many times I find myself in a place of questioning my motives. What are my intentions behind what i'm doing? Am I looking to honor God with my actions or am I trying to gain self praise? One of my biggest struggles is pride. This is an inward battle that i find myself dealing with. At times I look for praise or acknowledgement from others for things that I have done. How skewed is this? My main question is how do you overcome pride in your life? What does living a life full of humility look like? I encourage you to seek this out. I know personally I evaluate my motives and often take a step back to analyze my intentions. If my intentions are those that feed my pride I try to recognize and overcome these. Just a thought for the day. I hope you all have a great one.

  3. I saw the coolest thing yesterday!! I had just been talking to a friend about how we needed to start putting things into perspective when we think our lives as "horrible" or "unbearable". The, on the way home I was walking through the square on Guadalupe (where the homeless people hang out all day) and a group of them were sitting there singing "Yes Lord Yes Lord Yes Yes Lord Amen." More specifically, I walked past as these homeless, dirty, broken people were singing, "I'm trading my sorrows, I'm trading my pain, I'm layin' them down for the joy of the Lord!" It literally stopped me in my tracks in awe of how straight their thoughts were at that moment! I thought it was so awesome!
